Using a banned book gets teacher suspended
This video article discusses how Connie Heerman was suspended for having students read The Freedom Writers Diary by the Perry Township (Indiana) School Board. The list of 100 Most Frequently Challenged Books for the 90's decade according to the ALA includes such classics as: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies and the Harry Potter series.
