Opening: Associate Director and Head of Public Services, University of Colorado Law School Library
The William A. Wise Law Library at the University of Colorado Law School invites applications for the full-time, non-tenure track faculty position of Associate Director and Head of Public Services. The position reports to the Library Director and carries the academic rank of Instructor.
Responsibilities:
Administers the Public Services Department (currently composed of two reference librarians and three library assistants); oversees the Law Library's technologies and Web presence; participates in reference desk rotation and legal research instruction; and assists the Library Director and other department heads with managerial decisions and policymaking.
Required:
JD and MLS (or equivalent degrees) from ABA- and ALA-accredited programs. At least four years experience in a law library, with a record of progressively responsible supervisory experience. Experience teaching legal research and the use of electronic resources.
Preferred:
Experience as Head of Public Services or Head of Reference, preferably in an academic law library. Experience with Innovative Interfaces Inc.
(III) integrated library system. Knowledge of HTML, current trends in library Web site design and development, and the selection and implementation of Web-based library applications.
