Say “No, Thanks” to Unwanted Email

Good advice from McAfee:

"Whether you’re a consumer or business user, when you need to decide whether to unsubscribe or block unwanted mail, follow these simple steps:

  • Is the message from a known sender? If so, you can safely unsubscribe.
  • Is the message from a reputable company that you have done business with in the past? If so, you can safely unsubscribe.
  • Is the sender of the email always the same? If so, block the sender.
  • Does the sender change each time but key phrases in the subject or message body remain the same and are safe to block? If so, add a content rule to block the messages.
  • Check if the domain is legitimate or spam, and unsubscribe if it is not a spam domain and the privacy policy is clear."  [RJ]
