150 Million Hot Dogs Consumed This Holiday

Kobytrophy2005_1 The US Census Bureau estimates that 150 million hot dogs (all varieties) are expected to be consumed by Americans on this holiday. That's about 1 hot dog for every two people. However one would need to eat substantially more than half a hot dog to particpate in the IFOCE-santioned Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. In 2005, Takeru Kobayashi of Japan successfully defended his title at Nathan's Famous in Coney Island by consuming 49 Nathan's Famous hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes. Now, I love Nathan's but...
