New edition of Federal Bankruptcy Reform Legislation with Analysis
New edition of Federal Bankruptcy Reform Legislation with Analysis
List Price: $75.00
From the publisher's blurb: A treatise from West Publishing has become a very hot item, both in print and on Westlaw, thanks to the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act (BAPCPA). The treatise is 2005 Bankruptcy Reform Legislation with Analysis 2d, by the Hon. William Houston Brown and Lawrence R. Ahern III. The second edition of the treatise, complete with all sorts of improvements, became available in print in March 2006. Now the changes and improvements of the second addition have also been incorporated into the Westlaw database—2005 Federal Bankruptcy Reform Legislation with Analysis (BAPCPA).
The new edition includes the complete Title 11 of the United States Code Annotated, with additions indicated by italics and deletions indicated by strikethroughs. (The first edition included only the sections of Title 11 directly affected by the BAPCPA.) The second edition still includes only the sections of Title 18 and 28 affected by the act. But unlike the first edition, the second edition includes legislative history for the act.
Interim Bankruptcy Rules. Since the BAPCPA took effect, bankruptcy proceedings have been governed by temporary rules. Until final rules are adopted, the federal bankruptcy courts will follow the Interim Bankruptcy Rules. The second edition of 2005 Bankruptcy Reform Legislation with Analysis includes the interim rules, with additions indicated by italics and deletions indicated by strikethroughs.
New Practice Alerts. The new Practice Alerts are a handy feature introduced in the second edition. The Practice Alerts are tips that will enlighten even the most seasoned practitioner. The alerts, displayed in bold type, provide guidance on the more puzzling or tricky aspects of the BAPCPA.
Executive Summaries. Finally, the second edition contains a feature that will delight busy bankruptcy attorneys: the Executive Summaries. The summaries are actually two-column comparison tables, with the old provision in one column and the corresponding new provision in the other column.
