Legislative History of PATRIOT Reauthorization Act (H.R. 3199) Final Version

The USA PATRIOT Act, as well as the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act, expanded the powers of federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies to investigate and prosecute terrorist acts. H.R. 3199 permanently authorize certain provisions of these acts. President Bush signed the bill into law on March 9, 2006
