Miers Supported Ban on Most Abortions in 1989
CNN is reporting that in 1989 SCOTUS nominee Harriet Miers supported a constitutional amendment banning abortion except when necessary to save the life of the mother. Miers's views were made know in a 1989 candidate questionaire when Miers was a candidate for the Dallas city council. The White House recently submitted the document to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Doesn't support for a constitutional amendment banning most abortions imply that Miers recognizes that Roe v Wade is the law of the land and remains so absent legislative action?
