4th Circuit Rules President Has the Power to Hold Detainees Associated With Al Qaida
The Chicago Tribune (and other news outlets) is reporting that the 4th Circuit has ruled unanimously that the President has the power to detain a U.S. citizen associated with Al Qaida. This is the case of Jose Padilla in which the District Court judge ordered the government to either charge him or release him. The Court of Appeals overturned that ruling.
