Opening: Reference and Electronic Services Librarian, Loyola University Chicago
Loyola University Chicago is currently conducting a search for a Reference & Electronic Services Librarian for the Law Library. The Librarian will provide reference services to law library patrons while promoting and facilitating educational technology initiatives in the law school curriculum and co-curriculum; spearhead efforts to assist law faculty and students to incorporate technology into their teaching and research; help Law Library and other appropriate staff to utilize developing technologies and provide support as needed; help faculty to use web-based technologies and multimedia in support of the academic enterprise; teach Introduction to Legal Research; provide other instruction as requested; participate in the Law Library's faculty liaison program; assist in collection development; and prepare research guides and other publications. Additional responsibilities include collection development, management, and promotion of electronic resources. Perform other duties ! as assigned. This position may require evening and/or weekend hours and will report to the Head of Reference Services.
Qualifications:
JD and MLS or other information science degree from accredited institutions, excellent communication and superb interpersonal skills; working knowledge of PCs, web course authoring and management systems; ability to take lead role in Law Library web page development, and other technology projects; good training skills; ability to work independently, collegially, and communicatively.
