Secunda Discusses Odell Thurman Charge

Secunda Thurman_2 Paul Secunda (left) has taped a radio interview on The Adam Taxin Show on the subject of the EEOC charge filed by Odell Thurman (right) alleging that the NFL discriminated against him (Thurman, not Secunda) on the basis of disability by extending his suspension for alcohol infractions.  The interview will air on WNWR 1540 AM Philadelphia on Tuesday, October 23.  Here's a written transcript of the interview: Secunda interview.doc.  We've previously discussed Thurman's EEOC charge here and here.

My sister and I are classmates of Odell Thurman. All through the years of school I can remember Odell by his smart mouth and nasty attitude. If something went wrong and he was accused of something of course it was "never his fault."Now the incident of the fight in Monticello, the guy that got hit is a very close friend of my brother's. My brother was there the night the fight happened. He was outside, when someone came running outside saying his friend has just been kicked in the head by Odell. They got his friend and took him to the hospital.
I think that Odell has let this NFL career go to his head. It's a shame because so many young people look up to him and every time you turn around he is in trouble again.I wish he could see that he has disappointed alot of people. I don't think he has ever heard of "keeping your hands to yourself."It's sad when you think you can buy yourself out of trouble. One day all that money is going to be gone and he isn't going to have a pot to piss in and nobody to help him. Then he'll look back and realize all the crap he did cost him his career and probably most of his friends. All I have to say is act your age, quit thinking about yourself and start thinking about how you can help yourself get back the respect that everyone deserves.
