Chicago Bar Association International and Foreign Law Committee

CBA-Keating-Ostfeld-HodesThomas M. Keating and Michael G. Hodes were the guest speakers this week at the Chicago Bar Association meeting of its International and Foreign Law Committee.  They are pictured here with Committee Chair Lynne Ostfeld.  Mr. Hodes gave an overview of Customs Law for the Non-Customs Lawyer, touching upon classic customs law issues such as tariff classification, valuation, and answering questions from the Customs Service (the "Form 28" Requests for Information).  Mr. Keating gave an overview of "Hot Topics in Customs and Trade Law," including the pending WTO decision expected in the retroactive application of countervailing duties.
