The ICJ in the Service of Peace and Justice Conference

ICJNext Monday, September 23, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) is hosting a one-day conference entitled, "The ICJ in Service of Peace and Justice."  The conference celebrates the centenary of the Peace Palace at the Hague.  The conference is organized around four topics:

1. A Century of International Justice and Prospects for the Future;

2. The International Court of Justice and the International Legal System;

3. The Role of the International Court of Justice for Enhancing the Rule of Law; and

4. The International Court of Justice and the United Nations: Relationship of the ICJ with other UN Organs.

Some speakers were invited by the Court; others were selected through a call for papers.  Due to limited seating, only invited persons may attend in person. However, other interested persons may view the proceedings on line or through television coverage.  More information may be found in this ICJ Press Release.
