Celebrating the Fourth of July . . . in Italy

The American Army Base put on a great Fourth of July fireworks display last night in Vicenza, Italy (a small, beautiful city just outside Venice).

After the fireworks were finished, we overheard two Italians discussing WHY there was a fireworks display.  One of them remembered that it was some kind of American holiday, but he couldn't remember which one.  But then he remembered -- it was called Thanksgiving!

(No, that's a different holiday celebrated in November!)

For all of our readers around the world, we wish everyone a happy national holiday, whatever your own nation might be!
