UN Committee Against Torture

The United Nations Committee Against Torture called upon Syria, Yemen, and Jordan to investigate "numerous and credible allegations" of torture by police and prison authorities in those countries.  The Committee also voiced concern at the failure to punish so-called "honor killings" by family members in Jordan and Syria.  N.Y.
