Former President of Taiwan Arrested
Chen Shui-Bian, president of Taiwan from 2000 until 2008, was arrested this week by the Taipei District Court on charges of money laundering, bribery, forgery, and illegal possession of state assets. Chen has reportedly denied the charges, which he says are politically motivated.
