WTO - Concluding Doha?

Logos_3The July 2008 package is a stepping stone on the way to concluding the Doha Round by the end of 2008. The main task before WTO members is to settle a range of questions that will shape the final agreement of the Doha Development Agenda. Political breakthrough requires consultations among a group of ministers representing all interests in the negotiations. They are meeting in Geneva in the week of 21 July. The outcome will be put to the full membership in the Trade Negotiations Committee.  Find out more by clicking here

Let's tell the WTO-Doha story like it is- the Bush Administration offered to remove H1-B restrictions (and who knows what else) in order to get trading perks. They basically offered the skilled U.S. job market and U.S. jobs to foreign/Indian workers without even telling us. IF you are an American worker you had better breathe a sigh of relief that these so-called 'Doma' talks fell through and hope the next President cares more about the U.S. worker than making profits for themselves!
