Happy World Refugee Day 2014!

World Refugee Day is held every year on June 20. It is a special day when the world takes time to recognize the resilience of forcibly displaced people throughout the world.

A report recently released by the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees shows that the number of refugees, asylum-seekers, and internally displaced people worldwide has, for the first time in the post-World War II era, exceeded 50 million people.

For World Refugee Day, the UNHCR has created a series of essays, videos and photos that tell refugee stories

For this year's World Refugee Day, Asylum Access shared "Vilma's story." In her testimony, Vilma demonstrates the courage, strength and resilience of tens of thousands of refugees worldwide. Watch it now!
