From Educators for Fair Consideration:
Dear E4FC Family,
We are thrilled to announce that E4FC is NOW RECRUITING for our 2014-2015 Outreach, Legal Services and Policy Teams!
E4FC invests in developing the concrete skills and leadership capacity of undocumented young people and committed allies through our Outreach, Legal Services, and Policy Teams. In turn, these teams educate and engage the broader community on issues affecting undocumented young people and their families. In the past year, we have reached over 100,000 undocumented young people, parents, and educators with information and resources about educational and career access, potential immigration remedies, and other rights and benefits available to undocumented young people.
This year we are excited to expand our Outreach and Legal Services Teams as well as launch a brand-new Policy Team.
APPLICATIONS for all three teams are DUE SUNDAY MAY 18th at 5pm (PDT)!
Help us spread the word!
OVERVIEW OF TEAMS:
Outreach Ambassadors lead community presentations and trainings for undocumented youth, parents, educators, and allies. They participate in an intensive yearlong training program to develop as powerful public speakers, hone their personal narratives, and strengthen their leadership skills. Legal Advocates have helped more than 1,000 undocumented young people throughout the country by providing personalized information about their potential routes to lawful status in the United States. This team supports young leaders interested in legal careers with extensive training in immigration law as well as mentorship and networking connections to the legal field. Many of our past Legal Advocates have obtained employment with reputable immigration attorneys and non-profit agencies and have been admitted at top law schools across the country. Policy Advocates will contribute to advancing E4FC’s 2014-2015 issue priorities through design and implementation of issue-specific advocacy plans. They will develop an understanding of current policy issues affecting undocumented young people; gain critical research, policy analysis, and advocacy skills; and acquire the tools and confidence to play a leadership role in moving forward systemic change efforts that will improve the lives of undocumented young people and their families.
