Immigrants and Canada’s Workforce Development System

In Immigrants and Canada’s Workforce Development System, Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (SRDC) researchers Karen Myers and Natalie Conte examine Canada’s province-led workforce development policy, asking how effectively both targeted and mainstream services accommodate immigrants' needs. While recent years have seen significant innovation in the design and delivery of labor market training programs for immigrants, the authors note an emerging consensus that Canada’s system has been too supply driven and has failed to adequately involve key stakeholders, such as employers.  See Download Canada
