Jennifer M. Chacón: Managing Migration Through Crime
Columbia Law Review's online supplement Sidebar has published the first in a series of three pieces on immigration law. The piece is by Professor Jennifer Chacón of UC Irvine and is entitled, "Managing Migration Through Crime." The Essay attempts to theorize the criminal prosecutions of migration-related offenses. She notes that one effect of the trend of criminalization of migration is that the protective features of criminal investigation and adjudication are melting away at the edges in certain criminal cases involving migration-related offenses.
