Good news from New Haven! An immigration judge dismissed removal cases against four immigrants arrested in a raid. Judge Michael W. Straus threw out the cases against four immigrants arrested in the June 2007 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid because the officers egregiously violated the immigrants’ Fourth Amendment rights.
Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents had conducted a raid in Fair Haven, arresting 30 undocumented immigrants. Attorneys from the Yale Law School immigration clinic headed by Professor Michael Wishnie, have been representing 17 of those 30 immigrants.
