National Guard Ends Mission Along U.S./Mexico Border

The National Guard marked the end of its tour of duty on California's southern border today after helping out the border patrol for the last two years. "The mission is ending," said Jon Guibord, a spokesman for the California National Guard.

It should be noted that the predicted political, psychological and sociological disasters associated with militarizing the border, made by this blog's hosts, did not come to pass. The National Guard were not the demons the immigration lawyers and illegal aline advocates made them out to be. They proved themselves to be professional and humane, to the point that the governors of the border states requested their continued presence. Now would be a good time for those who slandered and libeled our soldiers to eat their words and apologize for their abusive rhetoric.
