Guess the Speaker? Hint: A Republican Presidential Candidate.

From the Washington Post:

"THE SPEAKER was discussing the human face of illegal immigration. "People are continuing dying in the Sonoran desert, and it's just a very sad thing to see," he said. "One 3-year-old baby died, a 16-year-old girl with a rosary in her hand. There's a side of this that grieves me terribly. These are God's children. They're not from another planet, and the whole thing . . . frankly, this whole issue saddens me a great deal." "

Hint Number 2:  It is not Tom Tancredo.

Isn't the Mexican government terrible for letting this happen to its people? Maybe they ought to do what a government is supposed to do, provide work for its people and promote social justice and make illegal immigration a thing of the past. I agree with you 100 percent, professor.

Horace, regardless of what Mexico does or doesn't do for its people, corrupt American businesses and politicians are still to blame for creating, in effect, an 'attractive nuisance'. McCain isn't one to talk because the CIR legislative proposals he backed would have only stopped a small % of illegal immigration. If you want to stop crossing deaths you have to deter more than 25% (CBO figure) of current illegal immigration.
