NJ Medical & Dental School Placed Under Federal Monitor

The NY Times reported this week that the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey agreed to place its finances and management under the control of a federal monitor in order to avoid criminal charges in connection with Medicaid improprieties going back years.  Herbert Stern, a former federal prosecutor and district judge, will fill the role and collect $500 per hour for his trouble, according to a sidebar article.
