"Miracle Worker" (or Quack) On Trial for Insurance Fraud

As reported on Dec. 28 in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a Georgia doctor is the subject of a federal 87-count indictment for treating desperately ill patients with alternative therapies -- including a chemical found in weed killer -- and billing insurance companies for covered standard therapies.  Once word of the indictment got out, the medical licensing board in Georgie issued a summary suspension of the 70-year-old physician's license (PDF).
