HMO Liable for Nursing Home's Negligence

A California appeals court on Oct. 25 held that a health maintenance organization that contracts out its health care responsibilities to various providers, including nursing homes, is liable when one of those providers denies medically necessary services or commits malpractice in the delivery of those services (Teri Pagarigan, et al. v.
