FTC Announces Final Settlement in Price-Fixing Case

On Friday, Jan. 14, the FTC announced its final approval of a consent decree in a price-fixing case, White Sands Health Care System, LLC.  In essence, most of the health providers in the Alomogordo, including most of the physicians and all of the CRNAs, were charged with negotiating with managed care organizations and other third-party payors in a manner that amounted to price-fixing and concerted refusals to deal.  All of the pleadings and related documents in the case can be found here.
