The Stanford Women's Legal Biography Project features Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's review of the book, Woman Lawyer: The Trials of Clara Foltz (Stanford Press 2011) from earlier this year. Foltz was the first woman lawyer practicing in California. Ginsburg shares her impressions of the book and makes some comparisons between Foltz and the author, Barbara Babcock, as both "entered the legal profession as curiosities." I reviewed the book myself for the Journal of American History.
