FDA Law Blog: FDA Serious About Food Allergen GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)

FDA Law Blog has blurbed a recent complaint against some manufacturers of protein powders and dietary supplements.  The complaint calls for an injunction due to adulteration with filth (because of unsanitary conditions), and misbranding of products containing allergens (because of cross contamination).Focusing on the allergen cross-contamination issue , FDA Law Blog notes that the complaint "should be considered required reading for all food and dietary supplement manufacturers."

Here is the complaint in United States of America v. Quality Formulation Labs., et al., C.A. No. 2:09-CV-03211 (D.N.J. filed July 1, 2009).
