Mississippi Bill: Illegal to serve food to obese patrons
A Mississippi bill introduced this week would make it illegal for restaurants with 5 or more seats to serve food to obese patrons. HB 282
(2) Any food establishment to which this section applies shall not be allowed to serve food to any person who is obese, based on criteria prescribed by the State Department of Health after consultation with the Mississippi Council on Obesity Prevention and Management established under Section 41-101-1 or its successor. The State Department of Health shall prepare written materials that describe and explain the criteria for determining whether a person is obese, and shall provide those materials to all food establishments to which this section applies. A food establishment shall be entitled to rely on the criteria for obesity in those written materials when determining whether or not it is allowed to serve food to any person.
Not even vegetables?
Correction posted 2/4/2008: restaurants with five or more "seats" (not tables).

Have you ever heard the phrase "Let freedom ring"? It is plain to see that the "freedom bell" is no longer ringing at full-force. Take a look around you at the freedoms you have lost and sit quietly by and say nothing. There was a day when Americans stood proud and voiced their opinion and beliefs. Which is also a dying freedom. Americans have lost their lives in war for our "freedoms". Has that all been in vain? As a people we have forgotten the sacrifices it took in order to live free. Now we look the other way when our own government decides we do not need the right to go without wearing our seatbelt. Now, they have decided that overweight people can't eat out at a PUBLIC restaurant? When did we lose the right to decide what is best for us? I guess we know have a big brother who knows what is best for us. Look up the Constitution Party and decide for yourselves what kind of change our government really needs.
