Alaska Salmon Included in International Food Aid
The U.S. government provides agricultural commodities worth more than one billion dollars to 106 such private voluntary organizations for food aid recipients in 75 countries. . . .
Alaska Governor Frank H. Murkowski announced Friday that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced a bid to purchase 1,049 tons of Alaska canned Keta (Chum) salmon for food aid to Jamaica, Guatemala and Cambodia.
