Easier Divorce in France?

France is considering a plan to allow divorces by mutual consent to proceed without a judge, simplifying a process that some critics say is already too easy.

Is getting a divorce actually easier in France? I would think it would be more difficult there since it is such a strongly Catholic country. http://www.cheapandfastdivorce.com/divorce.html
