Holy cow! That is a ton of money! Why did they spend so much? I don't think I have ever seen someone spend so much.

Here in Tulsa County, Oklahoma the Judges often give a speech to the parties saying something to the effect of the following: "You all have already wasted X dollars litigating the divorce and the subsequent motions. The way I (the Judge) see it, you all can continue to waste your precious hard earned dollars litigating petty issues and slinging mud back and forth at each other. Or you in the alternative you both can wisen up and decide to set your precious hard earned dollars aside in a college fund for your children. It's you all's choice whether or not you want to continue this way!"
