Ontario Ct. of Appeals Reinforces Arbitration
From Law Times:
The Ontario Court of Appeal has reinforced the validity of arbitration provisions with its decision late last month that it won’t vary spousal support in cases where there’s a separation agreement containing an exclusive arbitration clause.
In Grosman v. Cookson, the Ontario Court of Appeal reversed the motion judge’s decision and found that the courts don’t have jurisdiction to vary spousal support terms in a separation agreement when it includes an exclusive arbitration provision.

Screening Embryos in Italy
From Washington Post and AP:
ROME — Italy’s ban on screening embryos for diseases before they are implanted in a womb violates the rights of a couple whose first child was born with cystic fibrosis, the European Court of Human Rights ruled Tuesday.
The court’s finding in favor of the Italian couple triggered fresh calls among Italian politicians for a less restrictive law regulating artificial procreation.

Fewer than 100 people on the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans have been married more than once. Fewer than 20 are on a third wife. The elite four-wife club, which offers your best chance at seeing an old guy marry a woman 30 years his junior, has a mere 6 members. The reality is that billionaires who divorce often tend to remarry women closer to their age, with a few dramatic exceptions.
