Caseworker Visits Key to Foster Care Safety

Experts believe that frequent visits from caseworkers are key to keeping children safe in foster care. As a result of lawsuits, consent decrees, and collaborations with child advocacy groups, forty-three states have adopted standards calling for monthly caseworker visits to children in foster care. However, twenty-seven states have been cited as needing imporvement in this area.
