Southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church Oppose Arizona Constitutional Amendment that would Ban Gay Marriage

Churches at the Desert Southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church went on record this week as opposing a proposed amendment to the Arizona constitution that would ban gay marriage. In a resolution passed during the conference's annual meeting in Scottsdale, church leaders said that marriages are being threatened by forces such as infidelity, violence, addictions, lack of communication and commitment, and "not how marriage is defined."
