Federal Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals Hears Challenge to South Dakota Abortion Notification Requirement
The Federal Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments on Thursday about a South Dakota law that requires abortion doctors to inform patients that abortions end human lives and cause serious psychological problems. Opponents of the abortion law say that it forces physicians to give inaccurate information and infringes on their free-speech rights. The court is not expected to render an opinion for several weeks.
