Despite Iowa’s revamping its child welfare system and adding new laws aimed at preventing abuse, the state reports that individual cases of child abuse are at an all time high. While advocates for children say that there have been improvement in some areas of the law, they claim it is not enough. Confirmed cases of child abuse jumped about two percent from 2004 to 2005 and have increased sixty percent since 1999. Source: WHOtv.com.
