Supreme Court to Hear Partial Birth Abortion Ruling

The United States Supreme Court has agreed to review the question of whether a federal statute banning “partial birth” abortions is constitution. The Court said Monday that it will review the decision of a panel of the 8^th Circuit Court of Appeals in the case Carhart v. Gonzalez.  In that case, the 8^th Circuit ruled that the federal statute was unconstitutional because it lacked an exception for the health of the mother.
