South Dakota Lawmakers Endorse Amendment to State Constitution Prohibiting Abortions

The South Dakota Senate State Affairs Committee unanimously endorsed a proposed constitutional amendment that would make it clear that South Dakota’s Constitution does not grant a right to an abortion. If approved by the state legislature, the amendment would be put to a public vote in the November election. If the provision becomes a part of the State Constitution, and the U.S. Supreme Court  overturned Roe v.
