Chicago Parents Battle over Circumcision

A Cook County, Illinois judge last Friday ordered a mother not to circumcise her 8-year-old son until the court can hear arguments from the child's father. He opposes the operation, and the court must decide whether the operation will cause the child physical and emotional harm and is not in the boy's best interests. The ex-husband contends that the operation is an “unnecessary amputation.”  Source:  Judy Peres, Chicago Tribune, montereyherald.com.
