Legislative Development: Virginia Legislators Place Proposal to Ban Gay Marriage on November Ballot

Final approval was given by the Virginia Legislature today (Wednesday) on a proposed constitutional amendment that would ban Gay marriage in that state. The 28-11 vote in the State Senate cleared the way for the proposed amendment to be placed on the November ballot.  If approved, Virginia will join 18 other states that already have constitutional amendments banning Gay marriage.  Source: Bob Lewis, AP, Washingtonpost.com.
