Arizona Ban on Polygamy Not Unconstitutional

In a pretrial hearing, a Mohave County, Arizona judge rejected a constitutional challenge to the State’s ban on polygamy. The case involved eight men who practice polygamy now facing sex charges involving girls younger than 18. The defense had argued religious freedom as a partial defense to the charges.  Sources: Dave Hawkins/KGMN-FM,, Kingman Daily Miner,, KVOA4 Tucson, For more information, please click here (last visited December 24, 2005, reo).
