Bird Flu moves into EU and Africa
Science reports on the movement of bird flu into the EU and Africa. Many worry that "Beset by disease, poverty, and a lack of infrastructure, Africa is ill-equipped to deal with H5N1." On the good news front, the virus does not appear to be evolving quickly, which may make it an unlikely candidate for a human pandemic.
