It's the end of the semester, that time of the semester when we can finally get to all of those important tasks we haven't had time to do all semester, like cleaning our desks, organizing our email, and anything else we think we must do, before we start grading....
So let me start our to-do list by suggesting you read a recent HuffPost Post50 article regarding "vintage" phrases that should return to popular usage: 11 Vintage Slang Terms That Need to Make a Comeback. The list includes swell, funky, neat, scram and groovy.
What would you add to their list? I was thinking... "far out", "cool" (although the list includes "cool beans"), "swell", "for real" and "rocks". And by the way...I put "vintage" in quotes, because I never stopped saying "neat" but I'm not sure I've ever said "tubular".
