I know we have all heard about MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course) but have any of you enrolled in one or taught one? Here's your chance.  Johns Hopkins School of Nursing  is offering a MOOC titled CMoviesare of Elders with Alzheimer's Disease and other Major Neurocognitive Disorders. You can sign up online here or let your students know about this course in case they want to learn more. The course will be taught by Professors Gitlin and Hodgson.  The course starts on October 14th and runs for 5 weeks.  More information is available on the website.

The course was featured in Judith Graham's New Old Age Blog on September 5th, 2013 and features an interview with Dr. Gitlin.  Dr. Gitlin explained during the interview: “[t]he point is to help people understand Alzheimer’s disease from a comprehensive perspective that encompasses not only its medical implications but social, psychological and environmental considerations...”
