Medicaid "Expansion" and the Affordable Care Act

Kaiser Health News ran a story on August 18th that four states, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Maine and Vermont, are planning to reduce their Medicaid rolls in January.  Phil Galewitz, a staff writer for Kaiser Health News wrote  Amid Health Law Expansion, Some States Trim Medicaid Rolls.  According to the article, over 150,000 people are anticipated to be cut from the program, with Wisconsin having the largest cuts. Some of those cut may be able to obtain federal subsidies to purchase private insurance. The article describes that in two states the catalyst appears to be cost-cutting and in the other two-expiring waiver programs.
