Per Curiam Reversal in Warrantless Entry Case
The Court approved police entry into a dwelling under the "emergency aid" exception to the warrant requirement in Michigan v. Fisher, which you can find at the end of today's order list. Justice Stevens, joined by Justice Sotomayor, dissented on the grounds that the trial court's assessment of the officer's testimony provided sufficient basis for invalidating the warrantless entry.December 7, 2009 | Permalink
