Skakel New Trial Motion
In addition to a cert. petition to the U.S. Supreme Court, Michael Skakel's energetic lawyers have an interesting new trial motion pending, with allegations of juror misconduct, undisclosed evidence, and alterantive suspects. Whatever else one might say about the case, it does seem a bit unfair that if they had arrested, prosecuted and convicted the guy at the time, he would have received a juvenile sentence of a couple of years. Because of the decades of delay in prosecuting the case, now, he's doing 20 to life. [Jack Chin]
