NYC Participates in Cities for Life: International Campaign Against the Death Penalty Event in Rome

Citiesforliferome On November 30, more than 300 cities participated in the "Cities for Life--Cities Against the Death Penalty" campaign which held its annual event in Rome, Italy.  The date, November 30, commemorates the day in 1786 when the death penalty was first abolished in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.  New York, Amsterdam, Paris, Buenos Aires, Berlin, and Hiroshima are among the 300 cities supporting the international campaign, which holds events worldwide.
